Pregnancy is a term used to describe a woman's condition during a period of time (about 9 months) during which one or more offspring develop inside the woman. Childbirth usually occurs approximately 38 weeks after conception, or around 40 weeks after the last menstruation. The World Health Organization specifies a normal pregnancy period that lasts between 37 and 42 weeks. During a person's first OB-GYN visit, the doctor will usually provide an estimated date (based on an ultrasound chart) that the baby will be born, or the date of birth. Alternatively, the due date can also be estimated based on a person's last menstrual period.
Due Date Calculator
Most pregnancies last around 40 weeks (or 38 weeks from conception), so typically the best way to estimate your due date is to count 40 weeks, or 280 days, from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). Another way to do it is to subtract three months from the first day of your last period and add seven days.
When did I Conceive
The simplest way to estimate your conception date is to count forward approximately two weeks from the start of your last menstrual period. Most women ovulate two weeks after their period ends, and ovulation is when you are most fertile and most likely to become pregnant.
Ovulation Calculator
